Dear Parents and Guardians:

November is the time when we count our many blessings and reflect on all the things we are thankful for in our lives.  I am especially thankful for all the teachers and staff at Bonnie Brae who work so hard every day with our children. Bonnie Brae truly is a wonderful place for our kids and I am so thankful that we are blessed to have our children attending here.

By the time you read this, we will have had our Thanksgiving Luncheon.  Thanks to the many volunteers who made this year’s luncheon such a great success.  A big thanks go to Sue, Laurie and Amber who spearheaded the event.  It is so wonderful to see so many parents come and eat with their kids and enjoy the festivities.

The PTO is sponsoring two events in the month of December.  On Monday, December 7, we will be holding our annual Holiday Shoppe.  On this night, your children can come and shop for siblings, friends, and family members.  Helpers will be available to help your child shop and keep their purchases top secret until the holidays.  On December 16 at 7:00p.m. in the library, we will be holding a special meeting with school board member Tessie Wilson.  Tessie will be presenting information regarding next year's school budget.  Delegate David Bulova will also be in attendance.  Unfortunately, many things that we value as a community of learners may be cut due to lack of funds.  We urge you to attend this meeting to see what the budget situation is, how it may affect our school in particular, and what we can do to advocate for the things we as parents value for our children.  We would like to see as many parents at this meeting as possible.

I know that the next month will be busy for most us with the holidays and end of the year activities.  Please take time to relax and enjoy the season.  In the new year, we will have many activities planned for the students.  Look for information coming up about the talent show and science fair in February and down the road, the faculty basketball game and spring fun fair.
