Dear Parents and Guardians:

Welcome back to school!  It is hard to believe that we are almost halfway done with this school year.  It sure is going by quickly!  

I hope you had a wonderful holiday break.  I am sure your children were excited about the big snowfall and having a long break.  I know our family had a great time together in the snow and just hanging out.

The PTO is off to a good start this year and we have many great activities planned.  The Science Fair is planned for February 23rd.  This event is a great way for students to use their creativity and sense of discovery to explore different science activities.  Come and see what all of our amazing students have done.  Also in February, the Sky Dome will be coming to Bonnie Brae.  The students will be able to go into the dome and discover all sorts of things about the solar system.  Be sure to ask your child all about it.  

Coming this Spring, the PTO will sponsor our REACH fundraiser.  Students will practice writing by writing letters to parents and friends asking them to sponsor their reading for a week.  Then all of the students at Bonnie Brae will read for a total of 300 minutes at school and at home.  This is a great way to get everyone focused on reading and writing and help our school at the same time. 

In April, we have two big events.  The second annual Faculty Basketball Game will take place on April 9th and promises fun for all.  We will also have our second Talent Show sometime near the end of April.  All students are welcome to participate in the talent show.  Look for information for both events coming in your Tuesday packet.

The first week of May brings our Staff Appreciation week.  This is a fun week where we honor the teachers and staff with different fun things including a lunch, cookie and fruit day and the popular sticker day.  Also in May, on the 21st, we will have our Fun Fair.  This event is super fun for the whole family and we hope to see you there.

With all these events coming up, we will be needing lots of volunteers.  Please visit the 'Volunteer' page on this site to see a list of volunteer opportunities and to sign up to help with any of our events.
