Fundraising

In order to offer the wide array of children's programs and support our school, fundraising is a necessary and important part of our effort.  Last year, we reduced the number of fundraisers we held to focus on those larger ones that bring in more income.  This year, our fundraisers will include:

Wrapping Paper Sales (September 15 - October 2) - We have held the wrapping paper fundraiser for numerous year and it contributes to a significant portion of our operating budget.  This year, we have contracted with Sally Foster.  Proceeds from this sale help to ju,p start our programs for the school year.

Logo Items - Spiritwear (ongoing) - Clothing items with the Bonnie Brae Scottie dog are available for purchase through this site and at many events throughout the year.

Read-A-Thon (March) -  R.E.A.C.H. (Reading Education Awareness in the Child's Home) is a fundraiser that challenges students to read 300 minutes at home and in school during the designated REACH week.  Children are asked to send out sponsor and sponsors pledge money for each minute read (sponsors also have the option to pledge a specific amount of money rather than per minute).  Last year was the first year that Bonnie Brae participated in this fundraiser and it was HUGELY SUCCESSFUL!  We raised approximately $19,000.

Box Tops/Tysons Chicken - Over the past several years, our Box Tops programs has grown by leaps and bounds.  Last year, students sent in more than 18,000 Box Tops!  That converts to over $1,800, which goes directly to the school.  This year, we are hoping to collect even more.  Box Tops are collected by classroom and classrooms receive rewards for reaching set levels.  At the end of the year, the top three classrooms bringing in the most Box Tops receive a Pizza Party!  So start sending in those Box Tops.  New this year, we will also be participating in the Tyson Project A+ Program.  Like the General Mills Box Tops program, Tyson rewards schools for collecting box and bag labels from their chicken products.  Look for more information in Tuesday packets and newsletters - and start saving those labels.

Fun Fair (June) - In early June, come out to the school and enjoy an old-fashioned carnival and silent auction.  Carnival games, moonbounces, face painting, music and lots of good food (yes, we have sno cones, cotton candy, popcorn and more) can all be
found at the Fun Fair.  We also have many silent auction items generously donated by BBES families and more!

Dining Out Nights (various times throughout the year) - Several times a year, we hold Dining Out Nights.  The PTO arranges with various restaurants (such as Silver Diner, Hard Times) to hold a fundraiser at their location.  Families dine out at the restaurant and the PTO receives a percentage of sales from BBES families for that night.  So plan to eat out and support our school at the same time.
